There are still a few places on the Horticultural Society outing to Winterbourne, Edgbaston, Birmingham on Tuesday 20th June. So we have decided to offer it to non-members. If you would like to visit this delightful Botanical garden and Edwardian house please read on.

Winterbourne is an Edwardian house built for John Nettleford. It contains many antiques and Edwardian furniture. The visitor is invited to stroll around and learn about the family that lived there. Click Here for website.

The botanical garden is grade 2 listed and offers colour throughout the year. There is a walled garden, rock garden and woodland walk. The garden has collections of plants from China, North and South America and alpines from all over the world. Most areas of the garden are accessible by wheelchair and they also have motorised scooters if needed.

It is recommended that the group has a buffet menu which is served from 12 onwards in the Old Tool Shed as the Terrace Tea Room has limited seating. The menu is as follows and the cost is £7.95pp. Let Lyn know if you’d like to order lunch. Or you are welcome to bring a picnic.

Menu: Tomato and basil quiche, sausage turnovers, pork pies, Med. veg salad, Greek salad, chicken salad and green leaves. Bread rolls, tea/coffee or water are also included in the price.

Leaving Congresbury at 8.45am and returning at approx. 6.45pm.

The cost of this trip will be £18 or £25.95 to include lunch. We will be stopping on the way for a comfort break. Cheques payable to ‘Congresbury Horticultural Society’.
