Police are asking for help to trace a driver who failed to stop after being involved in a collision on the M5 near Clevedon on Thursday evening.

The four vehicle collision happened shortly before 6pm between J19-20, shortly before the Clevedon junction.

One of the four vehicles involved left the scene without stopping and police are keen to speak the driver who they believe may have information to help enquiries into the incident.

Police believe the car that left the scene was white, similar in shape and size to a Volkswagen Polo. It is likely to have damage to the front nearside corner of the vehicle, as well as rear end damage.

Another white vehicle which was also involved in the collision remained at the scene.

Police would also be interested in any motorists who were in on the motorway at the time of the incident who might have dash cam footage of the incident.

If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 0857 of 22 November.
