We are excited to let you know that the Virus Watch study is open to recruitment once again. Can you help us to spread the news by sharing this message with your family & friends in England and Wales?
Incredibly, over 50,000 people have contributed to Virus Watch over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our study is important because it has been used to understand how to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The focus of our research includes assessing the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. We are keen to find out whether our immune response to COVID-19 vaccines diminishes over time and if this differs in people that have long term health conditions. This is particularly important as new variants of COVID-19 emerge.
We would like to invite new households that have never taken part in Virus Watch previously to join the study. To take part, all that is needed is an email address and internet (at home or on your phone) to complete short, regular surveys about your household. Adults will be asked to take finger prick blood samples every other month (up to 5 in total) to test their immune response. As we gather the results from our study, you’ll be able to see them on our website.
For more information about Virus Watch, and how to join the study please visit:www.ucl-virus-watch.net
Please do not re-enrol if you are already taking part in the study as this will create duplicate records.
If you have recently withdrawn from the study, please ignore this message. It can take us a little time to update our databases.
