Those of you out and about after 8pm will be aware of some road works at the Smallway junction. Whilst we hope that residents affected will have had notification earlier than this, directly, we hope the below information may be helpful to others. This will also affect residents during the day on the 30th and 31st October – please read on for more information.

As part of North Somerset Council’s commitment to improving the district’s roads, we will soon be carrying out drainage and pavement investigation.
Works are anticipated to start on 27th October 2025 for an anticipated duration of 5 days. To carry out the works safely, we will need to close the junction of Kent Road (South) between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
We will also be closing Smallway (between Bristol Road and Kent Road) during the daytime on 30th and 31st October between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00.
We have advised residents that there will be workforce located within the road closure who will be happy to advise them on access arrangements. Residents in Kent Road and particularly Sheppy’s Mill will have access to their homes still. We have asked resident to please reduce vehicle movements (where possible) and be patient whilst the workforce makes access arrangements for them.
With any investigation works of this nature, there will be certain activities that may create noise. We will try to end keep any disruption to a minimum during the works for the local residents. See attached maps for traffic signals and diversions here and here.
